Exeter Women in Business Christmas Special Event

December 5, 2019

As the South-West’s nominated Suzuki Business Partner, we teamed up with Exeter Women in Business to put on a Christmas special panel event yesterday evening, with the topic of choice getting ‘social on social media’.

A fantastic panel hosted by our Business Development Manager, Mathew Brace, and renowned presenter and journalist, Alexis Bowater, boasted several female business owners including, Jennifer Corcoran founder of My Super Connector, Maria Harding owner of Four31 Digital, Natalie Trice a PR Director and author, and Rosie Parsons an award-winning photographer, each offering their own unique take on the topic.

The relaxed panel format proved very engaging, which coupled with prosecco and nibbles made for a great evening that we were delighted to host.

Suzuki voted Best City Car brand at GreenFleet Awards

November 16, 2019

Suzuki GB PLC is pleased to announce that it has been awarded Best City Car Manufacturer at the 2019 Green Fleet Awards which were held at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon last night. Suzuki faced some strong competition from four other manufacturers in its shortlisted category and was then judged as the overall winner.

This year the Green Fleet Awards were divided into 19 categories and the judging panel evaluated vehicle manufacturers, leading individuals, Fleet operators and other companies serving the fleet industry and recognised them for their commitment to reducing emissions and making the environment better for everyone.

Suzuki was commended for its self-charging 12 Volt Hybrid system fitted as standard on all Ignis models with manual transmission as well as two models from the Swift range, also with manual transmission.

Suzuki pioneered the 12 Volt Hybrid which is known as Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS). It adds less than 7kg to the overall kerb weight of the car and is well proven to offer lower fuel consumption with reduced CO2 emissions. It was first introduced in 2016.

The Hybrid system consists of an Integrated Start Generator (ISG) and lithium-ion battery to provide energy assistance on acceleration and electricity generation through regenerative braking to charge the lithium-ion and conventional 12 Volt battery. At speeds of less than 10mph, an Engine Auto Stop Start System is also incorporated to save fuel.

Ultra low fuel consumption Swift in Fleet World WLTP Challenge

October 16, 2019

At the recently held WLTP Challenge organised by Fleet World magazine, Suzuki is pleased to announce that its Swift Attitude model achieved 73.32 mpg, representing a 21.92 mpg improvement over the official WLTP fuel consumption regulation introduced for all new car registrations since September 2018.

Attitude is powered by Suzuki’s renowned 1.2-litre Dualjet 4-cylinder 90HP petrol engine and was driven the 220 miles test route by Hayley Everett from Fleet World magazine. At the finishing point, Hayley managed to attain a 42.65 per cent improvement over the official combined WLTP figure.

Swift Attitude has a kerb weight of just 980kg and combined with its 1.2-litre Dualjet engine proved to be a strong competitor finishing third overall for recorded fuel consumption amongst a wide group of 13 petrol, diesel, hybrid and PHEV models that entered this year. Pure EV models from various manufacturers were in a separately judged group.
