Suzuki dominates What Car? True MPG tests

July 10, 2020

If fuel efficiency is most important to you when buying a car, look no further than the Suzuki small car range.

In the latest What Car? True MPG tests, which uses real-world driving to show what fuel economy you can really expect from a car, three Suzuki models featured in the top 10 best performing cars.

With a True MPG of 55.2mpg, the Suzuki Baleno, a practical and spacious hatchback, finished in 6th position. Another model discontinued in 2019, the Suzuki Celerio, a small and practical city car, secured 2nd place with a True MPG of 57.8mpg. Both models offer excellent value for money in the marketplace, delivering not only excellent fuel efficiency but also a good level of specification at an affordable price.

Scoring an impressive True MPG of 59.6mpg, the Suzuki Ignis Hybrid was the most efficient model What Car? tested. As a mild hybrid, the Ignis benefits from both an electric motor and an extremely frugal 1.2-litre petrol engine. Even with the 4-wheel drive option, the Ignis’ True MPG only drops to 53.3mpg.

Price Point win for Celerio at the What Car? Used Car Awards

October 5, 2019

Suzuki GB PLC is pleased to announce a Price Point win for its Celerio model by What Car? Magazine. The Celerio was awarded Best City Car by the judging panel in the up to £5,000 category.

Used Cars Editor of What Car? Mark Pearson comments: “We’ve always loved the Celerio for its cheeky nature and practical interior, but when you add in its excellent reliability record and the extraordinary value it offers at this age and price point no other rival can come close. It can handle motorways with aplomb, and inside there’s space for four and a great view out, thanks to its tall windows. The fact that the car is recently off sale as a new car only adds further to its appeal on the used market”.
